I teach in a K-5 elementary school in a pull-out program. Our their state regulations regarding getting a sub for days I might be absent. If I am absent the student will remain in the mainstream classroom. In the past any sub I have gotten was never ESL trained, so the lesson plans for my beginners had to be totally scripted, It seems like a big waste of time to me. My district seems to be unsure if it is a state requirement or not.
