Do you have any ideas for teaching the five senses to a beginning ELL learner?

Re: The Five Senses
Use a picture bingo game. The senses bingo only shows a picture and students have to guess which picture correponds to theirs on the card. Ex: I show them a picture of a bell, if they have an ear then they mark it. My ESL students really benefit from this activity to master their five senses.

Do you have bingo boards already made? Or can you give me a lead on a website. I have been unable to find one that gives pictures of the senses. Thanks.

Likewise, you might find an animal that the person relates to-perhaps a pet at home. You can show the student that the animal hears or speaks or smells with the ears, mouth and nose. This can be expanded further to the senses of taste-"my dogs favorite treat is ..." with the explanation of the taste.

If you have access to a microwave with your students, popcorn is one way to teach the five senses. Pop it and hear it then smell it. Open the bag to see it and feel it. Finally, taste it.
CAUTION: check for allergies first.
